Your heritage… pass it on!
Australian Heritage Week runs from 11-19 April. It is a national celebration of Australia’s shared heritage. All communities are encouraged to get involved with planning and hosting a range of activities to showcase local heritage to the rest of the country.
Heritage is about the places and stories that make Australia special. It includes natural places, the Indigenous heritage and diverse historic sites that together reflect Australia’s development as a nation.
World Heritage Day (officially, the International Day for Monuments and Sites, endorsed by UNESCO in 1983) is held each year on 18 April. It offers an opportunity to raise public awareness about the diversity of the world’s heritage, its vulnerability and protection and conservation efforts.
To register an event and for more information go to the website of the Department of the Environment.
Open Forum is an interactive policy discussion website hosted and moderated by Global Access Partners (GAP).
