Help sick kids on Starlight Day
Starlight Day on 6 May 2016 is a national fundraising event run by the Starlight Foundation to support seriously ill children and their families.
Every day thousands of children are admitted to hospitals around Australia. Some of them are faced with a diagnosis that can change the rest of their and their families’ lives. Starlight aims to transform the often traumatic experience of hospitalisation and treatment for these children by replacing pain and boredom with joy and laughter. The Starlight Foundation has partnered with Australian health professionals to develop programs based on positive psychology principles that support the ‘total care’ of children and teens.
Individuals, corporations, schools and community groups are encouraged to get involved in Starlight Day by donating, volunteering and raising funds to help Starlight ‘Shine On’. The aim is to raise $1.3 million to help make hospital less scary and more fun for sick kids and their families.
